Over the years my preferences in balisongs have evolved, but I have always appreciated the simplicity and versatility of the BRS Replicant. Those who followed my work before I began producing knives will likely remember my large assortment of uniquely customized Replicants, each built with high-quality aftermarket parts from within the community. That spirit of customization played a major role in the development of the AEON.

When designing the AEON, my goal was to create a modern platform built around customization. Naturally, the JK Litetech came to mind as an early influence, serving as a foundation for some of the design concepts. From there, I incorporated elements I appreciated while adding my own direction—curating the platform toward my preference for a thicker, more robust construction inspired by designs like the PDN.

One of the key structural features is the overlapping top and bottom scales, which nest together and are secured with a center body screw. This approach increases rigidity and helps eliminate the bowing that can sometimes occur on similar platforms. The scales also feature a large hole pattern, allowing the liners and any anodizing or finishing work to be visible, adding a unique visual element.

Beyond aesthetics, the top and bottom scales function as external weights, allowing them to significantly influence the overall balance of the balisong depending on the material used—such as titanium, G10, carbon fiber, or aluminum.

In keeping with modern balisong design, the AEON also incorporates spacer weight pins for fine balance adjustments. Combined with a wide range of spacer materials and shapes, this allows users to further tune the balance, feel, and acoustics of the knife to match their personal preference.
